On Sunday, the 14th of December, over 500 people (including poor community members, monks, and NGO staff) gathered outside CC2 prison at 7am. This was the 4th Sunday in a row that they have congregated in front of the prison with the number of attendees growing each time.
Around 10am, they marched from CC2 to CC1 prison so show their support for the other incarcerated activists and monks. Similar to the previous demonstrations, balloons were released, children of the detainees spoke on the microphone, and monks made speeches on the Buddhist teaching on respect. The protesters hope to send a message to the government that the community will remain united in its support of the 18 activists and monks until they are released.
