300 Activists and Monks Gather Over the Weekend

nov 23On the 23rd of November 2014, poor community members, monks, political activists, and youths gathered in front of CC1 and CC2 in a show of solidarity for the 19 activists that were recently imprisoned. They encouraged the victims to remain strong against the injustice of their sentences.

Afterwards, the activists marched to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court where they displayed photos of the 19 detainees. They also called for the court to provide justice to a monk who has been summoned for questioning on the 25th of November.

Another gathering will be conducted on that day in front of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to show support for Venerable Luon Sovath, who is being accused of inciting strikes and other issues.
