Community call for justice for Yorm Bopha

Some 60 members of the Boeung Kak and Thmor Kol communities gathered at the Ministry of Justice this morning to submit a letter to the Ministry requesting their intervention in the case of Yorm Bopha. During the demonstrations, community activists held banners, clay pots, and lotus flowers, carried balance of justice replicas, and wore headbands calling for Bopha’s release. The clay pots contained salt, chilis, fake dollar bills, and incense, which the activists used to conduct a cursing ceremony. Police were present at the event but no violence reported.
