This morning some 100 Boeung Kak community members and friends gathered at the Royal Palace to submit a petition to the King. A truckload of military police hid under trees in the vicinity, and at least 20 security guards in blue uniforms asked the community to stop creating “public disorder” and leave. Eventually, two community representatives were allowed to enter the Palace and submit their petition. later, the group proceeded to the Ministry of Justice to ask about progress in the case of the 15 jailed activists. The Ministry stated they had not yet received documents related to the appeal of 13 representatives currently serving 2.5 year sentences.
