Some 100 Boeung Kak villagers gathered this morning outside the Senate with handmade banners and masks that demanded “Free the 15!” in both English and Khmer. Children pleaded for their parents to be released, calling for justice and an independent judiciary. A handful of community representatives were allowed into the Senate building to submit a petition, after which the group walked across the road to submit a petition to the Japanese Embassy as well.
